Conversation about social media changing the world  often emphasizes negative examples instead of positive ones. While I do not deny many misuses of social media, I do strongly believe in the power of these platforms when used properly, and at YYC3 that’s what we do! We practice and teach the best practices of social media to help increase awareness and affect positive growth.

Today an Upworthy article reminded me of this power and social media use for the greater good with the #‎ALSIceBucketChallenge as an example. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge helped raise more than $100 Million Dollars for ALS research, in addition raising massive awareness of the disease itself.

There’s nothing I love more than seeing, and joining the conversation for hashtags like this, and I hope that one day YYC3 will be involved in a social media campaign this big that truly makes a difference in the lives of others.
